I’d love to hear ya’ll review Amelie from the french movie Amelie. I know, it’s a french movie and, if you’ve seen this movie, at the end the movie focuses on her crush on this guy she meets. But her courtship, because I do believe she courts him, of him and her embracing her own agency into performing random acts of kindness (and rebellion), and the movie’s overall embrace of feminine life and sexuality is wonderful. I took french in high school, as you can guess by my email, and fell in love with this movie when I saw it.

Hello again! Thank you for reviewing Amelie. This time I’d love to hear y’all review Madison from the movie Splash. I saw the movie as a little girl, and it’s always had a special place in my heart.

I’m not sure if you were taking anymore suggestions for the month, but since it’s pride month and i’m not sure if you were looking for LGBT characters to do, I was wondering if Batwoman would be a good suggestion. I really love the Bat family and would love to see an episode.
You guys are great as always.

These are great suggestions! I have a feeling we will slowly morph into a cartoon podcast if we aren’t careful.

Love you podcast while I’m driving with my husband (he’s a fan too, though not as much as I am), but we’ve just binged Season 2 of Stranger Things, and I was wondering if there were any plans to discuss the female characters on that Netflix show, especially the Moms: Joyce Byers & Karen Wheeler, as well as Eleven’s “Mama.” And of course Eleven herself along with Nancy and Barb. Also, the newly added female characters, Kali and MadMax, are awesome as well. Thanks!

I would love for you to review Fiona from Queen of Katwe (Disney movie currently on Netflix). The whole movie revolves around the daughter of a single mother (played by Lupita) learning to play chess while struggling to survive in extreme poverty. The mother and daughter in this movie are amazingly strong and never stop supporting one another.

I’d love to hear you talk about Rose Tyler from Doctor Who. She’s such an incredible character! Rose is responsible for the Doctor being the way he is in his 10th and 11th regeneration. The love between her and The Doctor is so strong and inspiring.

I’d love to hear you talk about Helga G. Pataki from Hey Arnold. She’s definitely one of the most complex, dynamic, interesting characters in existence; not just as a female or as a cartoon.
Also Cordelia Chase from BtVS and AtS, as she had one the best character development arc between both series’. Also, I’d be cool to hear you talk about Annalise Keating from HTGAWM (because…so many layers), and Clarke Griffin from The 100 (same as Annalise).

I really want to hear you guys talking about April Ludgate from Parks and Rec- I think you mentioned wanting to do an episode on her while discussing Anne Perkins. I’m also curious what you’d make of Bella, from the Twilight series, whose books as a whole are widely regarded as trash.
Also some FFs I actually like and would LOVE to hear your opinion about-
-Katniss Everdeen from The Hunter Games trilogy
-Lyra Belacqua from Philip Pullman’s His Dark Materials contrasted with Lucy and Susan Pevensie from The Chronicles of Narnia
-DRAUPADI/PANCHAALI from The Palace of Illusions. The palace of Illusions is a fictionalised retelling of the great Hindu/Indian epic- The Mahabharata- as seen and experienced by Draupadi, who in the original text was just one of the many, many, many people involved. Draupadi goes through sooo much in her life, like pain and loss, riches and poverty, marriage, a great war, and at the end of it all- death, but almost on her own terms. I think she is the one I want you guys to talk about the MOST. The Palace of Illusions is one of my FAVOURITE books of all time and I think everyone can really draw a lot of wisdom and inspiration from both her story and the Mahabharata as a whole. I think you guys will have to do some research for this book, but the Mahabharat has several strong female characters, including Kunti, Gandhari, and in a way, Shikhandi. PLEASE, PLEASE do an episode on Draupadi or any one of these fantastic women- ignore ALL my other suggestions if you have to. The book is called The Palace of Illusions by Chitra Banerjee Divakaruni.
Lots of love

Vera Stone in Netglix’s new show, The Order, is worth watching. As a powerful female navigating a mostly male dominated world or magic, Vera is snarky and intelligent, which are always my two favorite traits in a female character. The show is full of strong female characters, even though it’s a male heroic storyline. Also worth investigating are: Alyssa Drake (love interest), Lilith Bathory (strong female friend) & Gabrielle Dupres (Alyssa’s nemesis).
